ANTAEUS DANCE PRESENTS ‘MERCY’

IN SHARED PERFORMANCES WITH TRAVESTY DANCE GROUP

IN DANCEWORKS 2017  AT CLEVELAND PUBLIC THEATRE

Antaeus Dance closes its 2016-17 season with Mercy, a new dancework about trust, endurance and tolerance.

Antaeus Dance joins Travesty Dance Group/Cleveland for Taking the Fall, an evening of modern dance, theater and film in Cleveland Public Theatre’s James Levin Theatre Thursday, May 4 through Saturday, May 6 in Cleveland, OH.  Directors Joan Meggitt and Kimberly Karpanty join forces to explore the many faces of resilience, sacrifice and acceptance through choreography that ranges from comical to poignant. Taking the Fall pays homage to the people in the world, be they friends, family or even strangers, who keep us safe, demand our honesty, and serve as models for integrity and right action.

The performance includes a screening of alter idem, a dance film by Karpanty and Meggitt that explores how we see and find ourselves; and a premiere solo for long-time Antaeus Dancer Heather Koniz Young.  Antaeus Dance performers will include: Melissa Knestaut Ajayi, Desmond L. Davis, Marissa Glorioso, Joan Meggitt, Shannon Sefcik and Heather Koniz Young with original music by Greg D’Alessio.
