YES…I CAN(!) DANCE
Antaeus Dance provides instructors for this premier program at the Mandel Jewish Community Center in Beachwood. Begun by dance enthusiast, patron and dancewear maven Taffy Epstein, Yes…I Can(!) Dance offers dance classes for people with Parkinson’s on Sundays from 2:00 to 3:15pm in the JCC’s group fitness studio.

Joan Meggitt, Desmond Davis and Heather Koniz co-teach this dance class for persons with Parkinson’s Disease. Four 6-week sessions were offered in the second half of 2013 and two sessions are scheduled for January, February and March of 2014. The classes are based on the Dance for PD ® program co-founded by the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group and led by founding instructor David Leventhal. Davis, Koniz and Meggitt – as well as fellow Antaeus Dancers Jessica Hodges, Sherri Mills and Shannon Sefick – took the Cleveland Dance for PD ® teacher training program offered by Leventhal in February of 2013.
